eLearning Standards

eLearning is the delivery of education by using electronic means. It involves the use of a computer or other electronic device to provide educational material.

eLearning differs from traditional classroom instruction at OhioHealth because of the absence of the course’s instructor. Courses delivered through the OhioHealth University Learning Management System (LMS) are completely independent and self-paced. Therefore, specific standards must be in place to ensure an effective learning environment using this educational venue.

This section contains information, tools, and links to help you design and develop effective online programs. Recognized standards of e-learning are included. OhioHealth uses these standards for all programs published on the LMS and other venues to ensure a high quality, effective learning environment.

With the development of any educational program, the ADDIE model should be used. This model will be used to share e-learning program development.
