Predictive Index and PRO Survey

The Predictive Index (PI) survey is a workplace-related, behavioral assessment tool which can give individuals and teams better insight into their personal work style preferences around four dimensions related to responsibility, interaction with others, pace of work, and formality.   Individuals learn what drives and motivates them, which can result in improved communication, work relationships and idividual performance.  The PI is completed online and is similar to other popular assessments such as the Meyers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator (MBTI) and DISC.  At OhioHealth, the Predictive Index assessment is used for team building, leadership development, hiring and selection, and as the foundation for the Understanding Personality Styles course offered through OhioHealth University.

A companion survey called the Performance Requirement Options (or PRO) is used to better understand and identify the specific behaviors and drives necessary for successful performance in a specific job.   When the job is profiled using the PRO and key candidates complete the PI survey, hiring managers gain important additional information to consider when making a hiring decision.  This type of assessment made at the time of hire ensures that hiring managers find the right person for the right job and understand what type of coaching and support their new associate will need during their orientation period and beyond.   Prior to posting the job or beginning interviews, the PRO is typically completed online by the hiring manager and two other individuals who can fully assess the job requirements.  An OD professional helps these raters synthesize their analysis of the job into a final profile.
