Understanding the four Knowledge Areas
A major key to our success is building an organization that balances its learning focus on these knowledge areas with the ever-present learning themes.
Learning themes
The blue border signifies that all of our educational offerings include these strategic learning themes:
- Mission, Vision and Values – the foundation that describes our work and what we hope to achieve
- Quality and Customer Service – core business principles that distinguish our company from others
- Personal and Career Development – a commitment that the company will do its part to help individuals achieve their highest potential
Knowledge areas
Our courses are categorized into four knowledge areas that encompass a wide variety of job skill, business, personal, technical, and leadership topics:
- Clinical Excellence – courses related to the delivery of patient care and patient services
- Management, Organization and Leadership Development – courses related to managing, motivating and leading others
- New Role Orientation and Technical Skills – courses related to welcoming and supporting people in new roles and courses related to using our information systems
- Enrichment, Wellness and Diversity – courses related to creating a safe and inclusive workplace and healthy individuals
Course numbering system
Courses are categorized and numbered according to knowledge areas for ease of searching the course database. Below is an explanation of the numbering system. New courses are frequently added. For the most current listing of courses and class dates and times, refer to the “ OhioHealth University ” tab on the OhioHealth intranet or go directly to the OhioHealth University website at www.ohcu.ohiohealth.com.
