360 Feedback

What is a 360 Degree Assessment?

360 Degree Assessment is a feedback process in which an associate, typically a leader, receives confidential, anonymous feedback from a variety of people who work around them. These groups of people generally include the leader's boss, peers, customers and direct reports. Leaders choose at least nine people to fill out an anonymous online survey that asks questions about a broad range of leadership competencies and also to provide written comments. The person receiving feedback also fills out a self-rating survey that includes the same questions.

360 Assessments: What do they do?

  • Provide several perspectives on a leader's behaviors and competencies.
  • Create a safe environment for leaders to receive feedback on how others view their strengths and weaknesses.
  • Allow colleagues to anonymously provide feedback on behaviors that may be difficult to discuss in person.
  • Allow leaders to focus on development areas that are most important to their success.

360 Assessments Used by OhioHealth:

Voices - This online assessment solicits feedback on the 16 OhioHealth leadership competencies that support our core values. The survey has only 32 questions and is an ideal tool for a leader's first 360 assessment.

The Leadership Circle - This online assessment solicits feedback in relation to two primary leadership domains: Creative Competencies and Reactive Tendencies. This robust instrument integrates the feedback so that key strengths and development opportunties immediately rise to the surface. This is an ideal tool for leaders in a director or executive role.

Who Can Receive 360 Feedback?

This process is available to any associate in a manager level role or above. It is available anytime; however, leaders must be in their positions for at least six months and have approval from their supervisors.
